Public
datasets are freely accessible by any user. They are datasets uploaded
either by EdCenter staff as good example datasets, or by other users
willing to make their datasets public for educational purposes.

Custom Datasets require permissions to be be granted
to the user. They are datasets typically used for research or online
course delivery where security and privacy are of the utmost importance.
Create
a Custom Dataset
Upload your own data. You just need to be sure it
is formatted properly. Please see the tutorial for formatting details.
Grant Permissions
Custom
Datasets require the owner to grant permissions to specific users, such
as a professor granting permissions to access a dataset for a course.
