Kris Stewart and Kirsten Barber Present to NPACI Booth Visitors at SuperComputing 2001

EdCenter Director Dr. Kris Stewart and EdCenter lead programmer Kirsten Barber attended this year's SuperComputing 2001 conference in Denver, Colorado, November 7-11, 2001 (see images below). SuperComputing 2001 is the premiere conference worldwide for the latest in high-performance computing and computational science research and education.

Kris and Kirsten had an opportunity to present work done by the ECCSE to SC2001 attendees visiting the NPACI booth. (View their original Powerpoint or html presentations).

Kris and Kirsten also displayed posters providing NPACI Booth visitors an opportunity to read detailed descriptions of ECCSE Projects.

The ECCSE Faculty Fellows Program provides release time and technical support and expertise to faculty who are trying to incorporate computational science or high-performance computing into their undergraduate curriculum.

The Sociology WorkBench is a collection of on-line resources for sociologists and social scientists. The core of SWB is a set of on-line analysis tools which you can use to examine several built-in datasets, as well as your own survey data. In essence, it is a free on-line statistical package implementing a unique data analysis methodology.

The EOT-PACI Computational Science Resources Community (CSRC) is a collection of high quality interactive online learning materials, assignments, reviews, and people with a connection to the field of Computational Science, particularly with the National Partnership for Advanced Computational Infrastructure (NPACI) and the National Computational Science Alliance (NCSA).
The ECCSE Computational Science Olympics the ECCSE is pleased to announce the continuation of an exciting and challenging RESEARCH PROJECT COMPETITION for CSU undergraduate students.

Kris Stewart also participated in an SC2001 panel discussion entitled "Computational Sciences: Do Undergraduate Faculty Know that Computational Science is the Future?"

Panel members (l to r): Kris Stewart, Rubin Landau, Bruce Pitman, Gabriele Wienhausen, Scott Lathrop
