Graduate Certificate Programin Computational Science
PREREQUISITE: A bachelors degree in science or engineering
The program requires 15 units and it is primarily intended for individuals who are not pursuing a Master degree at SDSU. Current students in a graduate program at SDSU who complete the required 15 units from the certificate list are also eligible to receive a certificate in Computational Science.
The certificate will certify that a student has received training in computational techniques applicable to her/his primary field of study. This will include: tools available for scientific application development, particularly those targeted at parallel and distributed systems; scientific visualization and database query applications; simulation and modeling packages; computational "templates" such as MatLab and Maple; and the choice of appropriate hardware resources for different classes of computational problems.
