Answer(or question to Mentor): The answer to number 1 is 330 calories. I got this by multipling 9x14 and 4x36 and 15x4 I did this because there are 9 calories in one gram of fat and 4 calories in one carbohydrate and 4 calories in one gram of protein. The answer to number 2 is 33/200. There are 2000 calories in her diet per day, and she just ate 330 that gives you 330/2000 if you simplify that it is 33/200 that is my answer. Did Lani eat any? And how would you find that out... please help me?? For number 3 I got 14/65. I got this byadding up 14+36+15= 65 and that is the denominator and there is 14 grams of fat.

Mentor Reply: Hi Jaime. You did a really good job with the current problem. The methods that you used for the first three problems was absolutely correct. Do you think you could also give me the answers to numbers 2 and 3 in percents. As for the challenge, try working backwards, using diagrams for help. Good luck, Tina.

Instructor Comments: Tina,

Good response. Great idea to stretch her to express the answers in percents. You could even say 'I will be glad to help you if you need some hints for percents.'

You have one grammar mistake: ‘methods that you used for the first three problems was ...' since the subject of your sentence is plural, then the verb must agree. SO, the sentence should say, 'methods that you used for the first three problems WERE...'
