Answer(or question to Mentor): Hi Kelly, Thank you for all your helpful tips. Now, for the first question I think the answer for number 1) (The answer) is 126 calories. I found this by multiplying 9 times 14. For number 2 I think it is..... 2) (The answer is) 1,874 which is about 90-95% of 2,000. I found this by doing 2,000 minus 126( the calories). CHALANGE: I'm trying the challenge proble. I think the answer is 24. How I got this was by working backwars. Like, the last amount that was left was 3 nuggets left. What you do is say what is 3 of 1/2, which is about 6 nuggets. Then you say what is 3/4 of 6 and that is about 8 nuggets then you say what is 1/3 of 8 which is about 24. Therfor, 24 is your answer. do you think this is right. Thank you for everything!! Rach (just call me Rach) :)

My sister and my best friend have the same name as you and I call them Rach also:) You can call me Kel if you want.

Anyway you are off to a good start on the problems. For #1 The answer of 126 is the amount of fat calories in the burger. How many carbohydrate calories and protein calories are there? Once you find these two amounts, add up all three and this will give you the total amount of calories in the burger.

For #2, you need the total amount of calories that you find in #1. Instead of subtracting, what other operation do you think will give you the percent of her daily intake?

For the challenge problem you are on the right track. I am glad that you worked backwards. I really like this type of problem and I hope you do to. You are correct when you say that 3 is 1/2 of 6. So at this point there are 6 nuggets. If Jaun ate 3/4 of what was left then six has to be 1/4 (3/4 + 1/4 = 4/4 or 1 whole). If is six is the 1/4 then what does the 3/4 equal? I like to use a diagram to help me visualize this. Once you find that do the same thing for the next step.

Try the problems again with my suggestions and let me know what you get. I think you are almost there:)
