Answer(or question to Mentor): Hi it is me again. THis is Sam and I have the problem of the week answer. The answer for A is... 7.5ft. How did i know u ask? Well first I said that 1/3 is 2.5ft and that left 5 ft dry. Then it said that the waters receeded back to normal so that means it goes back to 1/4 is back in the ground. Then I drew a drawing that helped me figure out the answer. Then I said 2.5x3 because 2.5 was 1/3 and we were talking about 3/4 so I multiplied that by 3 because it was 3 fourths which gave me the answer to A. The answer to B will be there soon

I liked how you drew a picture to help you with the problem. But make sure you are answering part A correctly. They want to know how high the storm surged in 2002. I got a different answer than 7.5 ft. Keep up the good effort.

Answer(or question to Mentor): Sorry for the delay about the answer to B, but now I have it and the answer to it is 15ft. The way that I knew it this time is tha I said that if 2.5ft=1/3,and it left 5ftg dry, than that let me get to the answer quite quickly. What I did was I drew a picture (once again) to help me find out the answer. I drew two little pictures and I said that one of them represented 1/3 and the other represented 3/4. So then I looked at the squares and I put 3/4 and 1/3 in the same square to show that 2/8=1/3 which like the problem said that it equaled 5ft. Finally I said that 3/4=6/8 since I had to deal with 8ths and that gave me 3 which was 15ft (because of the 5ft is = to 2/8)(or 1/4 if you are going to simplify. SO that gave me the answer.
-I look foward to your compliment about my answer
