Answer(or question to Mentor): 2. 100x6=600 so there are 600 strikes of lightning in a minute. I multiplied 100x6 because there are 100 strikes per second and there are 60 seconds in a minute. Per hour 600x60=36,000. I multiplied 600x60 because there are 60 minutes in a hour. Per day, 36,000x24=864,000. I multiplied these numbers because there are 24 hours in a day. Per week 168x864,000=145,152,000. I multiplied these numbers because there are 7 days in a week. Per month 4x145,152,000=580,608,000. I multiplied this because there are 4 weeks in a month. Per year 12x580,608,000=6,967,296,000. I multiplied this because there are 12 months in a year.

Mentor Reply: Hi John: My name is Tina. I see that you have tried out the challenge problem first. Your method seems right, but in the first few calculations there is a wrong answer, which caused the rest to also be wrong. Try it again from the beginning, and watch your steps carefully. Can you also please do the first problem also. Get back to me and good luck! ~Tina
