Answer(or question to Mentor): Dear April, I think the lighting is 6.4 miles away. I know because if it takes 5 seconds for sound to travel a mile and it took 32 seconds for her to hear the thunder I divided 32 by 5 and I got 6 2/5. Then i changed 2/5 to .4 and I got 6.4 miles. Jennifer

I multiplied 100 because it is how oftenlighting hits the earth pher second, by 60 because their are 60 seconds in a minute. and got my answer 6,000 times. The answer to challenge problem 2 part b is 360,000 times pher hour. I multiplied 6,000, because it is how many times lighting hits pher minute, by 60 because their are 60 minutes in a hour. Answer(or question to Mentor): Dear April, I divided 32 by 5 because it takes 5 seconds for sound to travel a mile. I divided 5280 by 5 because 5280 feet is a mile and sound travels a mile in 5 seconds so 1/5 of a mile would be how many ft. it traveled pher second. My dog April is a shetland sheep dog, they look just like mini collies, what kind is Verdell? Jennifer

Answer(or question to Mentor): Dear April, The answer to challenge question 2 part e is 325,920,000. I multiplied 81,480,000 because it is how often lightning strikes pher week, and 4 because there are 4 weeks in a month. The answer to challenge problem 2 part f is 3,911,090,000. I multiplied 325,920,000 because it is how often lightning strikes pher months by 12 because there are 12 months in a year. Jennifer P.S. do you know what P.S. stands for?
