Thanks for responding to the question.
I see that you divided 32 by 5 . Can you tell me a little more of why you divided? Your answer came up to be 6.4, what units might these be? (example hours, seconds, feet, miles)
Regarding the challenge problem, I think you did work hard on it. I am a little confused, but I know you can help me. Can you explain to me why you multiplied the numbers and where they came from? For example, 100 (60) I 'd like to know what each number represents. Perhaps that may help you to check your work a little more and keep trying, you're on the right track :-)
I hope to hear from you soon

Instructor Comments: Noemi,
Once again, nice work on challenging her to explain why she divided. You may want to elaborate here and say something like, "Suppose that you wanted to explain your thinking to a friend in your class who was confused. Can you find a way to explain why division makes sense?"
I think you need to be more specific in your feedback with the challenge problem. Which ones did she get right, which ones are incorrect? Asking her to "check her work" doesn't really help her see what she needs to fix. It appears to me that she was off by a factor of 10 and this set up a series of incorrect answers. Also, I agree that explaining where the multipliers came from would help, I cannot figure out where 168 came from.

The answer that was correct was 'a', although 'b' and 'c' you left one zero out.

Perhaps that may help you to check your work a little more because I'm not sure where you got 168. Keep trying, you're on the right track :-) I hope to hear from you soon
