Answer(or question to Mentor): I think the answer would be 6.2 miles away. I decided to do the problem 5 divided by 32 because it took 5 seconds for the thunder to travel 1 mile. If it took 32 seconds it problem came 6.2 miles.

Answer(or question to Mentor): I think the answer would be 6.4 miles because I did 10 divided by 64. I did this because you always see lighting before you can hear thunder.32+32=64 seconds and 5+5=10 seconds.64 divided by 10 = 6.4.So the answer is 6.4 miles that sound travels in miles per second. I don’t know how to do this in feet I mite need some help with this problem.

Thank you for submitting a response. I can see that you
did come up with the correct answer, but I do not
understand how you accomplished it. For instance, can
you please explain why you doubled 32 and 5, then
divided the two sums? I really look forward to your
response.

Excellent response to a difficult submission. The only revision I would suggest is to make it clear that her answer of 6.4 was correct rather than her first answer of 6.2.
I also like the way that you formatted your response by adding a line break after every line. As you can see, this makes it easy to read. As you can also see, I am not doing that!!
